50th anniversary week
The Yarmouth County Museum is celebrating 50 years at our current Collins Street location with activities from June 9th to the 15th!
June 9th: Opening of the anniversary week with a Scavenger hunt around town, cake, and an exhibit showcasing the past and present of the museum
- Scavenger Hunt from 11am to 1pm ($40/team, 4 people to a team) Registration is open, to book your spot, call 902-742-5539 and ask for Stacy
- Opening ceremonies starting at 1pm
June 10th: 2pm - The launch of our new online gift shop.
7pm- Trivia Night. Come test your skills on a variety of topics. ($10/team, maximum 8/team) SOLD OUT! We are accepting names for the wait list.
June 11th: 9am - Opening of Sailing at the Museum. Are you a pirate or a cabin boy? Test your nautical skills with escape room type puzzles to determine what kind of sailor you are.
June 12th: 7pm - Presentation on local historical fashion with the museum’s Costume Chair, Susan Winship.
June 13th: 7pm - Presentation by Curator Emeritus, Eric Ruff, on his favourite articles and life at the museum during his career starting from the 1970s.
June 14th: 6pm - Summer student reunion. There have been many students who have worked at the museum and archives throughout the years and we’d love to have them join us for a BBQ and a walk down memory lane. *If you were a summer student, and are interested in attending, RSVP by June 11th by sending us an email at email@example.com or calling 902-742-5539.
June 15th: 9pm-12am- Celebration Dance featuring the music of Hourglass. Come celebrate the Yarmouth County Museum’s 50 years and toast to many more years of preserving Yarmouth’s history. $10.00/person at the door. Location: Yarmouth Golf Course. Must be 19 to attend.
