About the Event

The Yarmouth County Museum and Archives is owned and operated by the Yarmouth County Historical Society. We have been preserving and promoting the heritage of Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia since 1958. We've worked hard to preserve our largest artifact, a granite stone church built in 1895 that houses the museum and archives.

In 2017, with generous donations from friends like you, we were able to replace the large arched window in the front of the church with a custom-built wooden one, just like the original.

Our current and urgently needed project is the replacement of our second large window on the left side of the building. Rising costs are impacting how we choose to proceed. We need to raise $15,000 to cover this cost.

Want to join us in making a difference? Any donation will help make an impact. Your support will help ensure that a beautiful heritage building lives on for the next 125 years and beyond.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The Yarmouth County Museum and Archives, owned by the Yarmouth County Historical Society stands on Mi’kma’ki (Mi’kmaq Territory) and supports culture, education, and arts on this land. We strive for meaningful partnerships with all the peoples of this province as we continue to live and work here. Through the Peace and Friendship Treaties, which the Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725-1726, there was no surrender of lands nor resources. Agreements within these Treaties outline a path for the ongoing relationship between Nations in mutual respect.
