Explore Yarmouth's Rich History

Yarmouth County Museum & Archives

The Yarmouth County Museum & Archives is an award-winning museum with over 20,000 artifacts that document Yarmouth County's heritage, in a historic former church. It's also home to the third-largest ship portrait collection in Canada.

While the mask mandate has been lifted by the government of Nova Scotia, we recommend visitors still wear a mask and social distance. However, we respect individuals' decision not to wear a mask and ask that everyone be kind to the staff, volunteers and other patrons during their visit.

Step back into time and explore Yarmouth’s rich history through photographs, documents and research materials.
